Requested Motion: Motion to approve IPO No. 27 with Kimley Horn in the amount not to exceed $70,000.00 for the 5th Street Streetscape Design
Summary:
The City of Crystal River is engaged in an effort to enhance the City’s downtown area and has identified NE 5th Street from N Citrus Ave to the Crosstown Trail as a streetscaping project. The City has previously completed a masterplan for streetscaping throughout the City (by Dover-Kohl & Partners) that will form the basis of design for this project. The City has identified that the project will require civil design and landscape architectural services to facilitate the streetscaping improvements. In support of this objective Kimley-Horn has prepared the attached scope of services. The final deliverable of this project will be a shovel ready project.
The proposal is in accordance the Civic Master Plan Action Item #3.4.1 “Reconstruct NE 5th Street in downtown to include on-street parking, wider sidewalks, street lights, and street trees. This street section should continue the same landscaping, lighting, furniture, and materials as Citrus Avenue.”
Staff Recommendation:
Approval of IPO No. 27 with Kimley Horn in the amount not to exceed $70,000.00 for the 5th Street Streetscape Design.
