Requested Motion: Motion authorizing the mayor to send a letter to the Florida Turnpike Authority urging the State to implement strategic pre-emptive transportation upgrades on local roads as part of the Suncoast Parkway extension

The State of Florida Turnpike Authority is fast-tracking the extension of the Suncoast Parkway from its current terminus on SR 44 to US 19 in Red Level with a planned interchange on CR 495 (Citrus Ave). The new turnpike and interchange will undoubtedly increase traffic on our local roads. The City Manager suggests that the City send a letter to the State requesting specific and unspecified upgrades on our local roads to help mitigate the traffic impacts.
