Requested Motion: Motion to remit $20,000 to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners to fund the City's share of the maintenance efforts being performed by Save Crystal River for the Kings Bay Restoration Project

The City’s FY 2023 budget includes $20,000 to be used as a “match” towards the $350,000 budgeted by the County to maintain the recently restored areas within the Kings Bay Restoration Project. The County has a contract in place with Save Crystal River (SCR) to perform these services. In an effort to minimize the potential for duplicity and maximize the productivity of the contractor, it is suggested that the County’s contract manager manage the City’s portion of the funds, as opposed to having a separate contract with SCR. This has been discussed with the County Administrator and both parties agree this to be the recommended course of action.
Staff Recommendation:
Remit $20,000 to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners to fund the City's share of the maintenance efforts being performed by Save Crystal River for the Kings Bay Restoration Project.
