On an annual basis, the City enters into an interlocal agreement with the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners to establish the solid waste disposal rates charged to the City.  During the City Council meeting held September 14, 2020, Council approved the interlocal agreement for FY21. Section 4 of the agreement allows for a subsequent one-year renewal. The rates for municipalities remain unchanged from the previous year.


Per the agreement, the City will utilize the County landfill at the covered secured load, per ton rate of $33.23, roll-off container covered secured load, per ton rate of $33.23 and an uncovered or uncontained waste surcharge rate of $10.00 per ton, provided the City disposes all municipal solid waste at the Citrus County landfill collected or contracted to collect within the boundaries of the City of Crystal River.
